FAQ
Question:
We've decided we want to get married on the beach. What do we have to
do first?
Answer:
The most important thing is to pick the date and time and then contact
us. We do several hundred weddings on our beautiful beaches each year
so the earlier you reserve your date the better.
Question:
Do you pick the location or do we get to do that?
Answer:
Normally we come to you. If you make reservations at a beachfront
property we usually can perform the ceremony on the beachfront. If you
are not staying on the beach we usually arrange to meet you at one of
our beachfront accesses to perform the wedding. Contact us first-we
have exclusive deals to save you money on any type of Lodging.
Question:
If we want to get married in front of our hotel or condo do we have to
get permission?
Answer:
Most but not all property managers allow weddings, especially if you
are renting several units from them. Lately some properties have been
making it VERY difficult to get married on the public beach. Please
check with us and we can guide you in choosing a "wedding friendly
location".
Question:
We have a friend that takes photographs. Can we use him rather than
your photographer?
Answer:
Of course your can. You might end up with snapshots rather than
professionally done wedding pictures. Our photographers are skilled in
taking photos on our bright white beaches framing their pictures to
eliminate as much undesirable background as possible so that you will
get real professional results.
We also provide all your photos to you on disk with out any copyright
held.
This means there are NO HIDDEN FEE'S for prints and such
We also offer professional video services as well.
Question:
Will there be other people on the beach?
Answer:
All beaches in the State of Texas are public so there are usually
people on the beach. There are a lot fewer in the off season. Most
people enjoy seeing a beach wedding and in most cases they will not
bother the wedding party.
We also offer a very private location that has no tourist traffic or
on lookers
We have numerous options, contact us for examples
Question:
What happens if it rains?
Answer:
You will get wet. But seriously we usually have a "Plan B". In bad
weather we stay in contact with you so that we can move to a sheltered
location someplace on the property. We sometimes move to one of the
beachfront State parks that have covered pavilions.
Question:
This is a second marriage for us and we have children. Can we include
them in the ceremony?
Answer:
Many couples do this by presenting the children with a necklace or
other small piece of jewelry to signify that they are all joining
together as one family. Our officiates have special verses that they
can include in the wedding for this purpose. contact us for examples
Question:
We want to write some of our own vows. Is that OK?
Answer:
Certainly. It makes the ceremony more meaningful and we are delighted
to include any personal touches you want to include.
Question:
What do we do with the license.
Answer:
The officiate will need to see the license before the ceremony. In
most cases they will sign and seal it after the wedding and send it
back to the Courthouse from which you bought it. It will then be
recorded and mailed to the address of your choice.
Question:
Why do you recommend that we let you handle the entire wedding?
Answer:
Is has been our experience that your wedding will go smoother with
less chance for glitches if you let South Padre Beach Weddings provide
all the services. When we book your wedding we assemble the team that
will be performing the various services. We have all worked together
hundreds of times before and everybody knows exactly what to do and
when. Our officiates help our photographers and video people so that
you get all the right pictures. The right music is played at the right
time and the decorations are all placed so that you have the best
possible light and background for your wedding photos.
